In the year
1974, we were the first to manufacture
Thermovac chamber to test the satellite ARYABHATTA for Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), which was previously known as the Indian Satellite Project. We commissioned the Thermovac Chamber at Bangalore all on our own with very few details on how to initialize the work. The triumphant launch of "ARYABHATTA" is till date considered a milestone of India’s scientific history.
In 1984, Microtorr were assigned with the task to transplant the complete Thermo Vacuum Facility (ISRO) from Peenya to New Space Application Centre Complex in Kodihalli, Bangalore. It involved the incorporation of turbo molecular/Cryo pumps and installation of liquid nitrogen vessels and liquid nitrogen and nitrogen vapour lines. We completed this work successfully in a small time period thereby making a record and achieving utmost customer satisfaction.
In 1985-86 an exclusive Cryo Panel designed Thermovac Chamber was commissioned to test space sub-assemblies at the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSE).M/s. Leybold of Germany chose Microtorr as its Indian partner to manufacture and supply 80kg Twin Chamber Copper Melting Furnace to produce oxygen free high purity electronic grade copper for a prominent Indian Research Organization. Microtorr along with Leybolds were successful in manufacturing and supplying the required components with strict adherence to quality standards.
